An Invitation Vol. 4
An invitation:
Close your eyes. Take an inhale and a long exhale. As you fill and empty your lungs, picture a moment or memory that brought you joy, maybe you can find a photo, object, or song that brings you back into the memory. Sink into how you felt in that moment, who you were with, what made it feel good. Let it wash over you. Stay here for a few breaths.
Here is mine:
🌬️✨It's March 2019 and I'm in Jamaica with my boyfriend and family. The sun rouses me from our comfy king-size bed and this photo is my view as I walk down the stairs. He joins me and we sit on that bench together, I feel the hot sun on my face as I watch my love's eyes crinkle closed in delight as he takes his first sip of Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee. We can smell the ackee and saltfish cooking for breakfast and the Caribbean Sea calls us in for a morning swim. 🌬️✨
This is one of my happy places. I loved watching my boyfriend discover and fall in love with the birthplace of my paternal ancestors. Looking at this photo, I am taken right back to the peace I felt here, and as I write this I feel so grateful for this memory and the joy it provides.
