Supernova

My boyfriend really loves science and he is always drawing me into conversations about the cosmos, teaching me and reminding me of things I've forgotten. The other day, he was telling me about the concept of a Supernova, the term for the end of a star's life. This doesn't always happen, but when some stars reach the end of their life cycle, they will explode causing matter (debris, elements) to shoot out into space.

This matter settles to form new stars, planets, and everything else in the universe.

It's beautifully poetic to realize that most things on Earth are made in the core of stars.

✨We are made of stardust.✨

If 2020 were a star in a galaxy I like to think that it would be dramatic enough to go supernova. Its stellar explosion shooting out debris and elements in the form of lessons, uprisings, old systems & structures, resilience, awakenings, "new normals", upheavals, pivots, hope, and far too many "unprecedenteds". As the 2020 star prepares for its end, let us reflect.

Let us make space for this debris to settle.

Let us reshape.

Let us transmute 2020's stardust into something different, something better.

Let us begin anew.

If this year has taught us anything it's that we can do things differently. Wishing you a holiday filled with moments of presence and the feeling of love. Take good care as you transition into a new year, see you in 2021!!
