Lessons from Wildflowers

One of my summer highlights was visiting Country Cut Flowers and creating this bouquet. It was a full sensory experience; smelling the blooms, seeing the rows upon rows of brightly coloured stems, hearing the buzzing song of the bees hard at work.

I went with a friend and her bouquet was beautifully curated with matching tones, intentional choices of textures and shapes. It was very much 'her', deliberate & purposeful.

My bouquet had no rhyme or reason. It had stems of varying heights and an explosion of colour palettes. In many ways, I think it was quite 'me', the more colour the better.

Janet, the owner of the farm told us that no two bouquets are ever the same. How amazing is that? Every guest is presented with the same rows of flowers, yet we all leave with a different creation. Get ready for the metaphor you know I'm about to drop 😂👇🏽

Life is better when each of us is working to create our own unique bouquets. Today my self-care looks like journaling about some of the unique things that make me who I am and intentionally celebrating them. When I see my own textures, shapes, and penchant for bright colours as worthy of celebration it helps me to see and celebrate you, too. 🌹🌷🌺🌻🏵️🌼💮
