You Are Human

The other day in the groupchat, my friend sent a photo of some mess on her counter that's been there for days and asked us to expose ourselves by revealing something equally chaotic that we've just been living with.

One person sends a pile of clean laundry on the floor, another sends a very precariously wobbly shoe rack that is just barely doing its job. I took a photo of my drawers, at the state of which Marie Kondo would most certainly swoon. I fold nothing. There is no organizational method, these drawers are completely chaotic.

It felt good to open my drawers and allow them to see the mess. I think I've spent a lot of time in life trying to appear "mess free" and put together. A big part of learning to love myself has been learning to accept the mess, in its many forms, and know that I am worthy of love regardless.

In case you need the reminder today, YOU ARE HUMAN. You have mess, whatever that looks like. You are still so very loved.
